Kristel D. Polder, M.D. graduated with honors from Texas A & M University and attended medical school at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, where she graduated in the top 4% of her class and was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, a Harvard teaching affiliate in Boston, MA. Dr. Polder completed dermatology residency at The University of Texas Houston Department of Dermatology/M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, where she served as Chief Resident during her senior year.

Dr. Polder specializes in general medical dermatology, laser procedures, facial rejuvenation, injectables, and non-surgical body contouring. She has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Texas Houston Medical School. Dr. Polder also educates dermatology residents through hands-on filler and botulinum toxin injection workshops. She regularly lectures to residents and medical students.

Dr. Polder has served as an investigator on several clinical trails, including studies examining the efficacy and safety of lasers as well as topical and oral treatments for a variety of dermatologic conditions. She is co-author of the book Beautiful Skin Revealed: The Ultimate Guide to Better Skin, available at barnesandnoble.com and amazon.com.

Dr. Polder stays active and involved in several national and local organizations and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the Women’s Dermatologic Society.

Dr. Polder is married to a board-certified anesthesiologist, Dr. Matthew Rowley, who practices with Metropolitan Anesthesia Consultants in Dallas. She enjoys spending time with her family and pet Yorkshire terrier, Cookie.
